I love him for his appreciation of the simple things in life.
My boyfriend was getting in late one night due to a delayed flight, so I surprised with him with the boeuf bourguignon I ordered from a popular local French bistro. He enjoyed the meal and appreciated that I went out of my way to get him such a fine dinner.

A few months later, I picked him up from his brother's 30th birthday party where he spent the majority of the night drinking with the guys. I asked if he wanted to stop somewhere for food and he replied, "You've already taken time out of your night to come get me. I can't ask you for anything else. I am perfectly happy just heading home." I grabbed a brown paper bag from the backseat that contained a couple orders of two for $1 tacos I got from a fast food chain, put it in his lap and said, "You don't have to ask for anything, I already got you covered."

As he opened the bag with a big grin on his face, I added, "Don't worry, I asked them to throw in the hot sauce and buttermilk packs because I know that's how you eat your cheap tacos especially after late night drinking.I also got you a soda too."
He turned to me, cupped my face with one hand and said, "I am so happy. I freaking love you right now!" I found his response both hilarious and endearing.
I love that he appreciates the little things in life. I love that he puts more value in me remembering what he likes over something fancy I can buy him.
Who knew that cheap two for $1 tacos can win out over gourmet boeuf bourguignon? Julia Child is probably rolling in her grave!
